Looking to get involved on campus but not sure where to start?
Many university committees on campus have a graduate student representative. Filling these positions for the academic year is essential to having graduate student voices heard at UC Merced.
Committees range across all kinds of areas, from campus climate to parking to space planning to student fees to information technology to sustainability and more. Time commitments for committees range from attending meetings once per year to twice per month. In the process, you will be collaborating with administrators, faculty, staff and other students to help UC Merced grow. Plus the appointment would be a great CV line!
More information about UC Merced committees with graduate student representatives can be found here. If you're interested in serving as a graduate student representative, please submit a brief Application for Committee Representation.
Please also join us for the Committee and Delegate Assembly rally to be hosted by GSA and Graduate Division on Friday, Sept. 9 from 2-4pm. Details to come.
If you have any additional questions about graduate student representation of campus committees, please contact Katie L. Butterfield, your GSA Academic Affairs Officer, at kbutterfield@ucmerced.edu. We hope your semesters are off to a great start and look forward to hearing from you!
