Inaugural GSA Legislative Affairs Officer, Betsabel Chicana Romero, advocates for issues impacting graduate and professional students at UC Merced
Meeting with Assemblymember Adam Gray's staff member, Mr. Ryan Heller
Working in conjunction with the UC Graduate and Professional Council, the UC Merced GSA Legislative Advocacy Team advocated for a range of higher education issues impacting graduate and professional students, such as affordable housing, healthcare for all, mental health, childcare and parental leave, broadband access, Title IX protections, and disability inclusion.
Meeting with Senator Anna Caballero's staff member, Ms. De'Anna Miller.
Meeting with Congressmember Jim Costa's staff member, Ms. Denise Sahatdjian.
Working in conjunction with the UC Graduate and Professional Council, the UC Merced GSA Legislative Advocacy Team advocated for a range of higher education issues impacting graduate and professional students, such as healthcare for all, student economic support, student loan forgiveness, and access to research and funding opportunities.
