Call for Applicants - Public Relations Officer

The GSA is looking to appoint a passionate and motivated person to fill the position of the Public Relations/Community Outreach Officer.

The duties of this officer are:

  1. To inform the graduate and professional student community of campus and local issues which may affect them and of activities in which they may wish to participate.
  2. To coordinate any social, academic, student forum or other event the General Membership requires or recommends be carried out by GSA.
  3. To actively engage graduate and professional students in community and volunteer activities.
  4. To serve on alumni relations committees and Chair the GSA Social Life Committee.

In summary, this officer will be tasked with planning and coordinating events that graduate students want to see, to encourage community service and volunteerism among the graduate student population, and to work with committees to strengthen relationships between UC Merced and the surrounding community.

If you are interested in the position, please email the GSA a brief statement highlighting your background and qualifications by next Tuesday, December 15th at 11:59pm (gsa@ucmerced.edu).  Applicants should be current graduate or professional students at UC Merced.  All applicants will be scheduled for a Zoom interview and final selections will be made before December 20th.
